Nancy has been an aesthetician for 29 years now, and she has always enjoyed making her clients comfortable while giving them access to the best aesthetic services possible. Her dream has always been to open her very own spa, and she made this dream come true by opening The Aberfoyle Spa. She envisioned a space that is both relaxing but functional at the same time, bringing the historical connection of the building to the local community. Each of the treatment rooms in the space are named after the pioneer women who preceded all of us. We look forward to offering you a peaceful space for reflection, renewal and inspiration. We trust that you will feel welcomed and at home in our space.

The Women of Aberfoyle

"Let us not forget the woman who played no small part in the building of this community. It was the pioneer woman who ministered to the wants of the sick, lulled the newborn babe ad closed the eyes of the dead. She oftentimes crossed the frozen swamps of winter to lend a willing hand or comfort the sorrowing. She was the home-builder. Around her cling the memories which can never be forgotten. She has proven that all our fine school and colleges along cannot build character; it takes a wo-man's hand."

Get To Know The Aberfoyle Spa Ladies

My name is Nancy Tsounis, and I have been in the Aesthetics Industry for 29 years now. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta by Greek Immigrant parents, who owned their very own restaurant. This is where I learned my work ethic, dedication, and customer service skills - and that I really didn’t want to be in the restaurant business!
This led me to attend The Alberta Academy of Aesthetics in Edmonton, Alberta in 1990-1991. Since then, I have worked in many Spas throughout Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto. I had the opportunity of working out of my house for several years while raising my children.
For a short time of about 4 years, I left the Aesthetic Industry to try another passion of mine - Interior Design. Having gone back to school and then working in the industry, I soon decided that my passion and love for houses was something I wanted to incorporate with my aesthetic work.
After moving to Aberfoyle about 5 years ago, I saw an opportunity that would make my dream of combining my love for aesthetics with my love for interior design come true. Focusing on every detail, I opened up The Aberfoyle Spa on May 3rd, 2017. I wanted to create a space where women can feel welcomed and a part of a community. A beautiful place where the women of Aberfoyle can come enjoy their aesthetic services close to home. At the same time, honouring the history of the home and the pioneer women who have made an impact on building this community.
When it comes to running this business, I am always striving to keep up to date with the latest products and techniques. I carefully chose each and every product used in the Spa based on my experience and what I believe will be amazing products for my clients.

My name is Courtney, and I started my journey as an aesthetician 12 years ago when I graduated from the Fleming College Esthetics Program, along with the completion of additional courses through the North American School of Podology. In September 2015, I successfully completed the Eyelash Extension Course, another service to add to my portfolio. My commitment to education and continuous learning have enabled me to keep up with the latest trends and newest technology available in the fast-paced world of Aesthetics.
I love making people feel beautiful every single day. My favourite part of being an esthetician is getting to know each individual client on a personal level, finding out what their wants and needs are and seeing them leave the spa feeling great about themselves. I have been with The Aberfoyle Spa since the day it was opened!

Courtney is on maternity leave until September 1, 2020.
